Tuscany comes to Vancouver

Here is the rule about Tuscany: if you have never been, you dream about going and if you have been, you dream about returning. Once is never enough. A bit like chips, or peanuts… but harder on your credit card.

Cibo Trattoria (Vancouver) to the rescue with their Fall lineup of monthly regional dinners. First up (grazie a Dio!) Tuscany. Here is the scoop from their website:

“Tuscany marks the divide between the richer European style cooking of the North and the simpler, lighter, more Mediterranean style cooking of the south. Tuscan olive oil is a defining factor along with the beef and chickens that are produced here, being some of the best in Italy. Pasta is less important than elsewhere, being replaced by bread based soups. Vegetables are exceptional especially artichokes, cannellini beans, borlotti beans, zucchini,
chard and tomatoes.”

The three options for guests to choose from:
5 course dinner for $48
5 course dinner with Tuscan wine pairings for $96
5 course dinner with Chardonnay isle e olena, Sassicaia, Solaia, Vin Santo wine pairings for $149*

*personally, I would go for the Sassicaia alone.

Here is one more reason to go, like you really need another one:  a complimentary bottle of Franci’s Le Trebbiane EVOO for each couple to try to recreate a little bit of Tuscany at home.
